MUSICALLY DIRECTING AND TEACHING CHILDREN AGES 8 – 15.
IMMEDIATE OPENING for Part Time Position
SHOW CHOIR Music Director at The School of Performing
Arts in Naperville: Responsible for the execution of vocal and
instrumental music pursuant to the production and its
performance dates. Should possess the ability to work closely
with the Artistic Team; be an excellent collaborator and teacher
of children ages 8 – 15 and possess excellent leadership
ability. Also responsible for working alongside Production team
to conceive, develop, and implement the artistic vision and
focus of the organization, aiding in major decisions about the
ongoing development of the aesthetic values and activities.
Experience in performance, particularly Show Choir and
Proficiency with music editing software a definite plus; must be
available Tuesdays 4:00 – 6:30pm September – June and flexible
performance hours available on weekends during holiday/spring
time. Opportunity for advancement and other artistic
opportunities for musical direction definitely available.

FOX VALLEY REPERTORY
(formerly Noble Fool Theatricals), a 501-C 3 non-profit
organization, is expanding our very successful PERFORMING ARTS
ACADEMY and is seeking an experienced vocal instructor/music
director for our Fall 2011 Teen Master Singing Class “Holiday
Classics.”
“A Showcase of Classic Holiday Music A Benefit supporting the
FVR Arts Academy. Let Fox Valley Rep’s top youth vocalists get
you in the holiday spirit as they present an evening of your
favorite carols, songs, and music from everyone’s favorite
Christmas films. All proceeds benefit the Fox Valley Repertory
Arts Academy.”
This position requires the ability to play piano proficiently
and provide professional-level instruction in vocal technique
during rehearsals. Candidates must be very reliable and
professional. Successful applicants are patient, even-tempered
and have experience with and love working with young people (and
their parents) in developing their craft.
The Director will oversee all aspects of the production
including lighting direction and blocking, and will have input
on song selection. Performances will feature our teens singers
performing solos, duets and group numbers while the Director
plays piano live on stage.
Must have professional experience. Only Chicago-area
residents will be considered.
The Director is paid as an independent contractor, and
compensation is a flat fee and competitive within the industry.
Work is temporary part-time.
OPEN AUDITIONS: October 16, 2011 from 2-4 pm
REHEARSAL DATES: October 25-December 8 -- Tuesdays and Thursdays
from 6-9 pm
MAINSTAGE PERFORMANCES:
December 10-18
Saturdays at 10:30 am
Sundays at 7:00 pm
